Twenty years ago, Irish farmer Tony's sister Kallen went to America
stay away from some trouble. And never came back to her home town.

about her. One day, Tony got a letter fron Kallen for 20 years.
After read it, he went into a shock.
She wrote that she didn't have much enough time, because of she had
incurable malady. She asked her son Chad to scatter her ashes in
Irish sea after she was gone.
Tony told all of islander include Joe who is bung also he was one
of the reason why Kallen went to America.
Tony had Chad to harbor however he surprised Chad is African-American
Not only Tony but also islander suspected him.

It was between 5stars and 4 stars on the parsnal.
I thought good work as "first film" for Pierce Brosnan's
movie production. He wasn't obsessed with his idea.
The format of the story was simple and normally,he pay attention
create "atmospheric movie".
Characters are have very distinctive personality,we can image
what backgrownd they have,why they confrict with each other?
I thought it was not too much say that color of personage
lead this story.
However "the motive"for each personage were so weak.
For example what Chad been up for about 17 years in NY?
Was there no friend in NY? What was the motive that he
determineded to take up his permanent home here?
Also we can say same thing about Joe and Tony.
Once they take apart about one lady.
But they figure out there was no vain to argue about
her after they know Kallen's mind. |

1 year later he was caught by DEA.
He take a raise a mortgage on his father's bar
to get bail money and he got freedom 24 hours
Now the dog which was saved by Monty at that night
he naned Doil,he sit beside each other and see
Hudson river.
In a matter of time his old friend bond dealer
Frank and highschool English teacher Jacob got
together,they thought just spent good time for him
til he get into jail.
There are three way to Monty's life.
Get into jail 7 years, committing sucide,run away
Which way is he going to choose and who was betray?
Now his long also short "24hours" started...

25th hour was strike my cord in real meaning of
drawing New York and Buddy
I didn't know about generation of screenwriter though
I can identify with the story.
I got why Monty didn't enforce sanctions against betrayer.
It connected message for "America"
Since America gave terrorist attack, they thought
fight fire with fire, I mean their thinking
concept of an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth
Monty thought revenge bring out another revenge.
So he quit it and grew up himself.
It's a time to grew up themselves... director Spike
wanna draw in the movie as a NewYoker I thought.
Then ending sequence telling immigration and
pioneering history of America.
Someone has a dream, someone wanted to re-change
their life...

One day at Athens Airport, a skillful Navy Seal Brat took a vacation
with his family but his wife taken hostage by Libyan terrorists.
They brought plastic gun in airport then they were able to
go though metal detector.
They killed people who against them, they require to swap their leader
Carlos and hostages.
Brad tried to against himself but he be fatally injured.
U.S. sends in an ex-Seal and current CIA operative to transport the jailed
terrorist leader to the kidnappers to arrange a swap.
Ex-Seals Cody Grant sprinted Calros unwillingly because
he arrest Carlos several years ago.
After that Cody visited Brat.
To get rid of Carlos, they passed themselves off as Cuban terrorist
then go to Libya...

To tell the truth this movie had planned
JMV for leading role at first plot.
But plot had changes many times finally,
his leading role movie planning was fade out
Instead of that, M.Pare's movie was coming.
JMV drop off his movie.
On the surface "Leading role was M.Pare" though
JMV steal his limelight away almost.
At the first sequence, in spite of his role was
"a skillful Navi Seals",he taught doubtful terrorist
his son(Haha). Then he was about to black out because of
he got injure, his son tried to wake up father and taught
again his mother hostages.
Brad tried to get off his wife however his wife get away
herself furthermore she save his husband (it meant Brad!)
....Brad was caught terrorist to save his wife.
After he was saved his wife, Brad get away, he forgot his wife.
On the other hand, JMV research enemy territory before he sneak
into there. And he seldom use tool which make noisy sound.
It meant JMV works smarter than Pare's did.
More than that I laughed Billy's looking and role name.
What's kind of terrorist are you?
When you were in Untouchable, you wore stylish white suit,
black short hair, it was more suitable for role of terrorist
I thought.
Then...what's point of this movie? Ummm...nothing special now.
There were some film which quoted from another movies.
By the way, Pare himself co-star with Billy several times.
After this film he co-star with him in Lunner Cop

Based on a true story from article from
Vanity Fair in '98.
Washington, D.C. journalist Stephen Glass
who worked at The New Republic for
for three years (1995-1998).
Making up news were nothing new.
Even though J.Pulitzer seemed that he made up
news to catch reader's mind.
In Japan, making up news by GHQ after WW2.
Sometimes they made up news to get rid of
the information for Unit 731.
They connected Imperial-Bank-affair and
Shimoyama-Affair in Japan.
Think about those, making up news due to
pressure from family and complex...
Stephen could manage to himself if his
surroundings were good, I suppose.
This movie's review would separate,
one side who get his mind other side
who can't understand his mind.
I manage to get his mind why he told lies
spin a yarn.
He didn't have a good relationship with parents.
On the surface, he had good relationship with
everyone however he was so lonely.
He has shouted who know real him.
Then he choiced to keep relationship between
everyone, he told lie, it started really small lie.
But it became big. He couldn't get back them.
So women his surroundings like mother.
Men who trusted like brother or father.
Nobody became friends relationship probably.
Chuck tried to keep relationship as collage and boss.
For Stephen, it was too hard to try it.
After Stephen fired there he found relationship
about collage I thought.

At that time, Tessa already found sordid corporate intrigues
she got a document of smoking-gun evidence from Lobeer,
Then she asked co-worked of Justin Sandy.
And she visited Nairobi with Arnold...it was last trip for her...
After Justin found the death of his wife, he visited Nairobi
why did she die...

John Le Carre who made his career by spy sequels
like George Smily in The Spy Who Came in from the Cold('63),
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy ('74),The Honourable Schoolboy('74)
Smiley's People('80) and he was called best selling auther of
spy novel in spite of his written style was so difficult to
reading and understanding.
The Tailor of Panama('97) was first cinematized spy movie
of his novel starring by J.Rush and 007 best actor P.Brosnan.
In this way...The Constant Gardener was novel work for
his carrer I've ever seen.
Director F.Meirelles told he wanted to draw intrigue of
drug company rather than romance movie.
There was a point why the movie didn't became honey-sweet
romance movie.
Title of the movie The Constant Gardener meant
the people watch out constantly.
It connected Justin's action for Tessa,usually.
After he overed his "position", it meant, he changed the
stance "constance gardener" for "activist", his life
was gone.
As he found that his hobby made breaking up Tessa,his
all of "think of atitude" was changing.
On the last scene he finally chose his road as same as his wife.
I don't know it was good or bad however,
If we thought about "marital love" it would be ideal style
for them.

Ignacio who was called Nacho a monk,raised
in a monastery in Mexico now works there as the cook.
Because his Scandinavian missionary and his Mexican
deacon tried to change their relision and felt in love.
After Nacho was born, they died.
Unrelated sence of humor, delicious meal, of cause
wresling among orphans in monastery, Nacho had appealed
his passion and energy for wreasling.
He was famous for orphan children in monastery however
working as a monk was horrible.
Rival monk Guillermo always made fun of him even though
Nacho never give up.
One day a beautiful nun Sister Encarnacion arrived there
Nacho felt in love on the first site.
He thought "If I had money or rich... I would able to cook
dericious dinner for children and Sister NOT Guillermo"
But he has stolen chips during he bought foods for monastery.
He depressed himself but he found a rich man who is "luchador"
(Proffesional wrestler in Spanish).
Then he saw the flyer local Lucha Libre tournament.
Winning prize is $200!
After he got back the monastery, he was going to find the partner
Suddenly he came up the idea...why don't you tag with the guy
who stole the chips?
Nacho tagged with the skinny guy Steven and tried to get earning
as lucha libre...

This movie is based on a real priest, Rev. Sergio Gutierrez Benitez.
who has been in over 4,000 matches over the past 23 years.
His ring name is Fray Tormenta ("Friar Storm" in Spanish)
and he does wrestle under the mask in Mexico to support an orphanage.
The story was on the CBS evening news and a couple of the
news magazine shows several years ago.
When Rev. Sergio retired his carrer and gave his ring name for
one of ohphan who naned Tormenta Jr., Sergio over 60.
Even though he lose his gave, he wouldn't give up his life
for orphan children.
Probably most watcher who didn't know based story and who
know how famous the director just released Napoleon Diamite.
Movie watcher would be looking for the fun as same as
Napoleon Diamite however this movie was luck of something
for fun of Napoleon- I don't know why.
For me, I'm not fun of Napoleon-,I knew based story.
I'd like to see how to cinematized Jack Black so comical and not
tear-jeaking story.
In the point Jack Black and Mike White succeeded it but I can't
figure out why Jaret Hess need to direct it.
Mike White is better than Jaret I thought.Anyway...
Some of scenes reminds me real Fly Tormenta.
When Nacho was force in to tight, he found the children and sister.
It reminds me his retirement much.He took over 20 orphan children.
Also exsistence of Chanco,he would be Tormenta Jr.
Of cause, movie of Jack Black, we are looking for his song but
there was a few?? songs in the movie.It's not enough.
